Hello, I’m John V O'Sullivan (or ‘John V’ to those that know me).
I’ve lived in Sneem, Co Kerry all of my life, as have generations of my family before me, so I have a thorough knowledge of the local area - its history and culture. I have also researched the genealogy of most of the families in this area.
The gosneem kerry tours journey began when in the mid 1990’s I took up hill and mountain walking as a hobby. From the year 2000 I began to
organise hiking tours for charities such as the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) of which I am a member for 20 years.
Golfing is also a hobby of mine and back in 1976, I helped found the Parknasilla Golf Club in Sneem.
Door to door transport and guidance (where required) is provided on all of my Golf and Walking trips and I’ll even be available to play a round or two if you find yourself short for a team.
Sneem was once home to Cearbhall O Dalaigh, the former President of Ireland as well as Steve ‘the Crusher’ Casey, the World Champion Wrestler and has enjoyed many famous visitors over the years such as George Bernard Shaw, Charles de Gaulle and Princess Grace.
Today Sneem is a picturesque and romantic village on the Ring of Kerry and set amongst the backdrop of the Kerry Mountains.
Despite its size, it’s well used to visitors and there are an abundance of places to eat and enjoy some seafood caught just off the bay. It also has six traditional pubs, where you can unwind after a days walking or teeing off and sip back a cold Guinness whilst having the craic with the warm and friendly locals.
